23kg Gothot Used Coffee Roasting Machine

Circa 1929 — Incredible Condition

Includes Destoner

We consider ourselves lucky to list one of the true workhorses of the vintage roasting world: a beautiful refurbished 1929 22kg Gothot used coffee roaster. Manufactured in Germany, this unique 23kg natural gas-fired drum is the earlier design with roaster's heat applied near the bottom of the drum — meaning that the beans are evenly roasted inside.

REFURBISHED FOR MODERN PERFORMANCE
This classic roaster was fully functioning when our seller purchased it in 2010. He ran the machine until 2016 when he decided to completely refurbish it. And wait for it... no "miles" on it since! This beautiful roaster has been in refur'b, ready to run condition for about 8 years now. It has been fired up to confirm complete operation along the way, but no production roasting.

Originally fitted for one speed for the drum and fan, the seller modified the roaster with separate drum and fan motors controlled by variable frequency drives (VFD) for greater user capability. The seller also sandblasted the exterior with an intentional, rich patina look, added a new gas valve, and modified the burner for improved control.

The best part? This vintage beauty is now Cropster-ready with two fast response probes! And, a destoner is included.

CAPACITY & CAPABILITY
In full production mode, this machine was used roughly four days per week, running typical roast production of 4-5 hours per day at 2-3 roasts per hour. The seller reports that while this roaster can handle a full 50 lbs of green at a time, 45 lbs is its sweet spot.

The seller built his company on this machine but has moved on from it due to needing a higher capacity machine. He hopes it will be appreciated and effectively used by another roaster passionate about roasting on a vintage machine designed for modern use. The seller will also be available to provide installation support.

FAQ

Once a Used Elite equipment sale has transacted, what’s involved in relocating the equipment?

Once the seller confirms full payment has been received, CEPros will move on the previously scheduled equipment prep and engage the crating company and freight company. Or, if optioned, CEPros will facilitate a buyer pick-up.

CEPros requires crating companies to take photos of the equipment crating that are reviewed and approved by us before freight is scheduled.
This assures a safe equipment transport.

Once the crating photos have been approved, CEPros notifies the buyer the equipment is ready to ship and confirms the delivery address and buyer's schedule.

All shipments are insured and include an appointment delivery time that works with your schedule.
