Crate and Freight Cost and Logistics
When considering buying a used roaster or new or used ancillary equipment from Coffee Equipment Pros, it's important to factor the costs for crating and freighting into your purchase decision. You'll also need to decide how you handle the equipment relocation logistics.
The information on this page will help you make informed choices for these essential aspects of your equipment purchase.
Crate and Freight Cost
Most equipment purchases require crating or equipment protection of some type and professional freighting for safe relocation. These associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
The chart below provides approximate ranges for crating and freighting. Add these costs to your equipment purchase to understand the total expenses involved, including the amount you might choose to finance. (Yes, crate and freight costs can be included in your finance amount!)
Keep in mind that these are only estimates. Costs can vary based on the roaster model, ancillary equipment purchased, geographic location, shipping distance, and current market rate fluctuations.
Equipment Logistics
We offer three (3) options for your equipment acquisition:
- You can physically pick up equipment and handle all communications and logistics with the seller.
- You can coordinate all aspects of freight prep and shipping, handling all communications and logistics with the seller and crating and freighting vendors.
- CEPros can assist with communications and logistics for the complete relocation process, delivering all equipment directly to your door.
If you choose Option 1 or 2, please refer to our Equipment Acquisition Checklist for a listing of seller and buyer responsibilities and considerations.
If you choose Option 3, we will handle everything for you. We approach the equipment relocation process as if they are our own machines — with extreme care, insight, and experience. This includes all communications and tracking with all involved parties, necessary equipment rental (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.), sourcing of packaging materials, and overseeing delivery, setup, and commissioning (if requested).
