The HIVE BREW™ System is Easily Expandable

The HIVE BREW 701 expansion module double the capacity of a HIVE BREW 700 by adding 7 additional cells and sharing the control package on the HIVE BREW 700.

The HIVE® 700 uses the same brew cells as the HIVE® 100 and is an automatic seven (7) cell module that can be expanded by adding a second 701 module. This 701 module has 7 cells and reduces costs by sharing the control package on the 700.

The HIVE BREW™ 700 has 7 nested cells and the operation is automated. It has a single water inlet for customer supplied water under pressure. Water level in each dispersion plate is automatically controlled with an electronic level sensor.

A single brew collection tank is mounted under the cells with a level sensor and and a sanitary pump to automatically transfer the concentrate to a remote bulk tank provided by others.

An Allen Bradley PLC and touch screen controls the automatic brew cycle and clean in place routines.

Typical production is 14 gallons of concentrate at 10 Brix every brew. Brew time is 25 to 35 minutes. The concentrate can be cut with water to produce 700 gallons of 2 Brix RTD in a shift. If you purchase 7 additional cells, these extra cells can be used to dump spent grounds, rinse, and prepare the cells during the brew so you can get back to brewing in less than 5 minutes. This increases output to close to 1000 gallons of RTD per shift.

Up to 4 inter-connected Hives of 7 x cells (28 cells) provides up to 400 gallons of concentrate at 10 Brix. This can be cut to 2,000 gallons of RTD at 2.0 brix in an 8 hour shift.

This is achieved by using a patent-pending process that provides 18 to 21% extraction of the solubles in the beans. This compares to 13 to 16 % extraction for typical passive immersion brewing systems.

Fast Brew Times of 25 to 40 Minutes

Our unique hexagonal brew cells allow 2.5 gallons of water to flow through 6 pounds of grounds that have been pre-infused with 0.5 gallons of water. The patent pending dispersion plate at the top of the cell controls the water flow rate evenly over the grounds and yields an average of 2 gallons of concentrate per cell at 8 to 12 Brix/6.8 to 10.2 TDS.

Superior Flavor & Longer Shelf-Life

The fast brew time and the controlled water flow through the grounds allows you to capture the prime attributes of your single origins and blends. This provides a superior taste. Brewing quickly provides an extended shelf-life compared to slower brewing methods.

The Brewing Process Provides Higher Brix Concentrate at the Beginning of the Brew

Up to 25 Brix (22 TDS) concentrate can be extracted at the start of the brew. Up to 2 quarts of espresso strength concentrate “cold espresso” is perfect for espressos, iced drinks or affogatos.

The Concentrate is Clear with Low Turbidity

There is no agitation of the grounds during the brew so there is no need for secondary filtration. Our patent-pending, reusable, stainless-steel filter allows for ease of use and filters out the grounds. This eliminates costly throwaway filters.

Brew Cells are Easy to Handle and Clean

A loaded cell weighs less than 20 pounds so it’s easy for a Barista to handle. Cells can be rinsed between brews and sanitized daily.

TORR's new cold brewer uses an extraction process that utilizes a hexagonal, micro-batch brew-cell concept to optimize taste quality, extraction yields and brew time without taking up as much space as other cold coffee brewing systems. The "HIVE cells" are designed to fit tightly together and can be combined to fit production needs. Whether you are an independent coffee shop or a commercial cold brew coffee company, HIVE BREW™ is the best cold brew system on the market because it is high-yield, affordable and scalable.

SYSTEM INCLUDES
One (1) - Stainless Steel stand with 4 levelling feet.

Safety guarding with e stop control.

Allen Bradley remote I/O module to allow control from Hive Brew 700 PLC and Operator Panel.

Seven (7) - 6-pound clear brew cells with removable stainless steel filters.

Seven (7) - Clear dispersion plates with dust covers.

Automatic water supply fill valves controlled by electronic level sensors. Customer supplies pressure water line.

One (1) - 2-gallon concentrate collection tank with stainless steel lid and an electronic level sensor to control transfer of concentrate to customer blend tanks.

Air operated sanitary double diaphragm pump to transfer concentrate to customer supplied blend tanks.

Brew cells, collection tank and piping components are CIP capable. Customer provides the cleaning solutions and hot water under pressure.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
• Spare brew cell with filters, dispersion plates and cell dust cover to allow cleaning, reloading of cells during brewing.
